Promise Olives
Feeding, Discipling and Teaching people to thrive (not merely survive): these are the pillars that Monte Christo Ministries (MCM) is built upon.
It has been said that "a hungry child is a child that cannot learn". The cycle of hunger leading to hopelessness can only be broken by education, and education is only effective when the mind is sharp, ‘well fed’. When a child has a full stomach his heart is receptive to learning truth:
"I am the way, the truth and the life , no man comes to the father but by me (Jesus)." John 14:6
By planting and harvesting Olive Trees, MCM is creating a road to sustainability that will not be dependent on foreign funds in years to come, but will allow the impoverished of South Africa to thrive independently.
For the cycle to be broken, for hearts to be broken, for bread to be broken, a tree of Promise must be planted. |
